Capuana, Mario

Mario Capuana was an Italian composer from Sicily. He was born around 1600. He flourished from 1645 until his death in 1647. There are very few data on his life and career. But several sources mention that he was maestro di cappella at the cathedral of Noto, near Syracuse, Sicily, from 1628 until his death in 1647. He was buried in Noto.
He is one of a series of Sicilian composers with names as Pietro Vinci, Bortolomeo Montalbano and of course Sigismondo d’ India.
