Donemus Webwinkel — Dormolen, Jan Willem van

Jan Willem van Dormolen was born in 1956 in Den Haag (The Hague), Netherlands, and grew up in the village of Oegstgeest. After finishing grammar school he first started studying physics, but soon switched over to the conservatory in Utrecht, where he read clarinet, bass clarinet, composition and (later) saxophone. He worked as a music teacher for 30 years and then made a career switch to free-lance translating. He speaks Dutch, English, German and French and odds and bits of other languages. Since 2023 he is mostly retired and has dedicated himself to composing a bit more again.
