Program note (English): Quadrivial is an adaptation of the piece double. The work focuses on the communication between the pianist and the other three players. The piano is prepared with the hairs of a bow in order to produce long string like sounds. In the climax of the piece, the pianist grabs a mallet and a fast percussive reacting between the flute, violin, cello and the pianist takes place. These theatrical gestures are written down in the score. - MICHEL VAN DER AA
