Toelichting:
Program note (English): The solo cantatas presented here represent two very distinct periods of De Fesch's creativity. Apis amata is a youthful, unpublished work revealing the enormous influence of Vivaldi. The manuscript, perhaps in De Fesch's hand, that has been employed for this edition is cared for in The Conservatory of Music in Brussels (FG 104). Alla Medisima is from the last years of De Fesch's life. It is Ode IV from 'Del Canzoniere / d'Orazio / di / Giovan Qualberto Bottarelli / ODE XII / Messe in Musica da pui rinomati / Professori Inglesi / ... / Londra, MDCCLVII'. The copy employed for this edition may be found in the Toonkunst Bibliotheek, Amsterdam (201 A 12).
