Here is Wind, There is Tree, But They Never Meet : for 36-reed Sheng, Pipa and Guzheng / Yip Ho Kwen Austin
Toelichting:
Written during the pandemic in summer 2020. One day I was gazing out of my room’s window, looking at the outside world—all of a sudden it seems so unnatural, so unrealistic. I saw trees, I saw birds, I saw the ocean, I saw high risers, but all of them seemed to be so unconnected. It was almost as if I was being presented a virtual reality of the “outside world” through the window, while I was kept indoor, composing, writing, daydreaming, and thinking about the purpose of art.
