Mermaid Bubblegum is inspired by a swirling and frothy river in Dumfries, Scotland, and late-afternoon sunlight reflected on spiders’ webs next to the bubbling waters. It is a piece about the tongue-in-the-cheek mischief and sensuality of mermaids. The audience becomes part of the soundscape, like drops in the river from which the mermaid emerges.
