Toelichting:
The studies are aimed at advanced trumpet students. There are musical cultures where complex rhythms are part of their tradition and music students easily adapt to this kind of rhythmic education. One such case is the Balkans. In other countries the complexity of the rhythms creates major problems for students. These exercises, which could well be played as part of a recital, aim to familiarize the students with these rhythms. The goal is to approach these complex rhythms through pleasant, singable melodic lines.
