Program note (English): Breathless is a direct result of an emotional process I experienced during the time of its composing which, for lack of a better term, I must call 'falling in love.' To a certain extent it chronicles the feelings I went through in that period, but a purely musical logic had its share in the direction of the piece as well. Since I am unable to communicate verbally this emotional process, the music must speak for me. - JOSÉ-LUIS GRECO
