Program note (English): Following the idea that viola and double bass have complementary ranges that even more attractively assimilate the timbre and some of the qualities of viola da gamba, I composed this duo with the personal title 'When I was 27' that has to do with the coincidence at that time of my age and the date of my birthday. Further in the piece are referances of early music, landscapes, a dance, a birthday song and an optimistic end. The amplification, lighting and the general way of performing is equally important for the musical interpretation. All details and instructions are given in the score. - CALLIOPE TSOUPAKI
