Program note (English): The dictionary defines spontaneous combustion as the ignition of a substance from the rapid oxidation of its own constituents, without heat from any external sources. As with all the titles of my recent compositions, this one has multiple meanings for me. The work was conceived and composed without an extra-musical premise; an exception to most of my pieces. I feel it is an adequate description of the character of the music which, I must admit, owes much to my love of jazz. - JOSÉ-LUIS GRECO
