Program note (English): Shadowgate follows the pattern of a computer-adventure: on his quest the player must wander through dark corridors in gloomy castles where each room has its own secrets and dangers, and holds the key that is needed to advance to the next room. Likewise this music steadily pursues its goal, passing through different stages, that each hold the key to the next passage, thus creating a musical adventure. - GERARD BELJON
