Toelichting:
Program note (English): Several years ago the new series 'Geschiedenis der Nederlanden' [History of The Netherlands] was published. For the presentation in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Tristan Keuris was asked to write a composition for clarinet quartet. "Fortunately nobody knew my music, otherwise I would never have received this commission. They assumed I would use subjects from Dutch national music but I associate a violin with love and timpani with war. The Klarinetkwartet starts very aggressive and brings about a lot of noise". - TRISTAN KEURIS
