Who, What, When, Where, Why? : for symphony orchestra / JacobTV - Jacob Ter Veldhuis
Auteur(s):
Veldhuis, Jacob ter
(Componist)
Toelichting:
WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY? was written in June 2020 commissioned by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The world premiere took place on August 20, 2020, in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw under the direction of maestro François-Xavier Roth.
Most music I write is inspired by the times in which I live. In WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY?, I attempted to express my confusion and speechlessness about our era: a world full of complex ecological, political, social, cultural, humanitarian, and economic issues. It is a reflection of our times, a snapshot of a rapidly changing world.
The term 'Who, what, where, when, why,’ also known as the '5 Ws', contains five key questions used to gather information or solve problems. This line of questioning is often applied in fields like philosophy and journalism.
