In 2020 I wrote three pieces for piano solo, all dedicated to my youngest daughter Babette, a pianist. This composition is placed between two other pieces: “Static Movement” and “Meditation”. This “Toccata” is the second piece. It has a simple ABA structure. The theme is based on chromatism and the augmented fourth. Tempo and rhythm are very important and must be played very strictly.
