Program note (English): Concerto for amplified cello was written while I was a composer-in-residence at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. It is dedicated to the cellist, Sarah Hopkins with whom I performed often in an amplified duo. It is a 20 minute work in a single movement form although there are three sections: Prologue, Cadenza, MM=60. The chamber orchestra of fifteen players uses a pair of amplified double basses. The final portion of the work incorporates some structured improvisation for the chamber orchestra as well as the soloist. - JAMES FULKERSON
