Toelichting:
The meaning of the term 'vanishing point' is explained by the Webster's College Dictionary as: 1) a point of disappearance or cessation, 2) the point of which receding parallel lines appear to converge. In this composition the title refers to the distribution and trajectory of sounds in the tape part (cd) in respect to the organ. These sounds were sometimes derived from the real organm or created by means of electronic. Then these families of sounds are combined with thel live performances in ways, which aim to merge the two elements into one. The movement of sounds plays an important role; it attempts to the 'choreography' in sound with the live instrument. A video-camera films the display of tthe CD player, this image is visible to the organisation a TV monitor. In this way synchronisation with the tape is realised. The tape is available in 3 versions: 1) the original quadraphonic version on DA 88 tape 2) a 2 track version on CD 3) tracks 1, 2 and tracks 3, 4 on seperate CDs.
