Program note (English): 'Four mini-pieces' are created from short improvisations. Consequently, they are decidedly extemporaneous in character, which should be considered when playing these pieces.
They are short, technically simple pieces, for which a small mechanical organ with two keyboards and pedal is sufficient. Therefore, they can very well be used as a first practical introduction to the more avant-garde organ literature.
Modern elements appearing in these pieces include:
unusual notation, special registrations, clusters and room for short bound improvisations.
Notwithstanding their technical simplicity, these pieces are certainly not meant to possess only educational value; they are suitable for concert performance. - WIM DE RUITER
